Mr. Zubin Bamji

Zubin Bamji is the Manager for the World Bank's Global Flaring & Methane Reduction (GFMR) Partnership, a trust fund composed of governments, oil companies, and multilateral organizations working to end routine gas flaring and reduce methane emissions from oil and gas production. He leads a team that advises and supports governments in identifying and implementing solutions to the many economic, regulatory, policy, and technical barriers to flaring and methane reduction.
Prior to joining the World Bank's Energy & Extractives Global Practice, Bamji was a Senior Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce, working on regulatory, environmental, and sustainability issues for NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration). He has also served as Director of the Security Industry Association and Director of Brand Management & Communications for NPR. Bamji began his career as an Account Supervisor for Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, management, and journalism from the University of South Carolina.

Prior to joining UNEP, she worked at Environmental Defense Fund to engage leading oil and gas companies on methane mitigation. Meghan holds a Master's Degree from George Washington University in Environmental Policy and a Bachelor's Degree from Western Washington University in Environmental Economics and Energy Policy.

Tahir Faruqui is Vice President Origination - LNG and member of the Leadership Team for Shell's Global LNG Marketing and Trading business. He was previously General Manager – Global Head DLNG and General Manager Origination North & Central America Shell LNG Marketing & Trading.
Tahir originally joined Shell in 1997 as a Senior Analyst with Shell Services in the US. Shortly after that, he pursued commercial deal making in Shell Capital, focusing on investing in oil and gas opportunities. Seizing the opportunity to broaden beyond energy, Tahir completed an MBA from University of Chicago and then spent the next four years with Bain & Company in strategy consulting where he focused on transformational projects with mid-to-large corporations across multiple industries. With this broad commercial experience, Tahir returned to Shell Trading & Supply in Gas & Power in their Structured Finance group. He was then appointed as Vice President for the Energy Retailer business in North America where he also co-led the South Power network team.

Georges Tijbosch is Chief Executive and Board Member at MiQ, a not-for-profit climate tech foundation, providing the blueprint for the reduction of methane emissions in the oil and gas sector.
Alongside RMI and SYSTEMIQ, Georges helped launch MiQ in 2019. Under Georges' leadership, MiQ has become the largest certification initiative for methane emissions in the oil and gas sector, certifying over 5% of the global gas supply.
Georges is the former Director of Origination at Centrica. Before that, Georges was a director at London investment bank commodity trading desks.

Dr. Hiromichi Shirakawa, Japan Region Chief, leads EDF's Japan-based work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase development and deployment of clean energy technologies, and deliver climate-resilient fishery solutions. He works in close coordination with EDF's global energy transition team – focused particularly on slashing methane, getting hydrogen right, and cleaning up transportation – and fisheries and oceans team. Hiro joined EDF from Credit Suisse Securities Japan, where he served as Chief Economist for Japan and Vice Chairman. Hiro also spent 16 years with the Bank of Japan, and during his service at the Bank, he worked for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development based in Paris as an economist and as an administrator. He studied finance and time series analysis at Graduate School of Business, University of Washington.

Keisuke Sadamori took up his duties as Director of the Office for Energy Markets and Security at the International Energy Agency in October 2012. Previously, he held the post of Deputy Director General for Policy Co-ordination at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in Japan. He had been involved with the IEA for a number of years as IEA Governing Board Representative for Japan and as Co-Chair of the Standing Group on Long Term Co-operation. Over the years, Mr Sadamori has served in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Japan and has co-ordinated numerous important projects, including work following the Fukushima-Daiichi accident in March 2011.

Jean-Eric Paquet is the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Japan since autumn 2022.
He held various mandates at the European Commission, where he contributed in shaping EU policy in various fields. As the Director-General for Research and Innovation from 2018 and 2022, he set up the European Innovation Council and promoted a whole-of-government approach for R&I, notably via the creation of several EU Missions to solve major ecological, societal and economical challenges.
He gained considerable experience at international level as Director for the Western Balkans in the Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations and as EU Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania from 2004 to 2007.
From 2015 to 2018, he was Deputy Secretary-General of the European Commission, in charge of Better Regulation and Policy Coordination, covering all policy areas related to the EU Green Deal.
He also led the development of the Trans-European Transport Network Policy and was responsible for Europe's transport infrastructure policy and investment strategies, the single European rail area, inland waterways and port policy.
In all his endeavours, he puts co-creation and systemic change at the heart of the decision-making process, and strongly believes that citizens should be more involved in shaping public policy agendas.

He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo has served as President of the National Institute for Environmental Studies since 2021.

Hiroyuki Mori joined JNOC, the predecessor organization of JOGMEC, and has been actively engaged in providing financial support to Japanese companies involved in the energy industry for over 30 years. His expertise lies in corporate/project valuation and project risk management. He, as Member of the Board, oversights its Energy Business Unit, promoting various low-carbon and decarbonization initiatives, including methane emissions reduction, CCS and hydrogen/ammonia. In November 2024, he was selected as one of the "TIME 100 Climate 2024" by TIME magazine.
